my story

Hello and Welcome to Whole You Health!

My Name is Coach Jamie and I am the founder/coach of my practice Whole You Health and sub-brand TRANSform & Athletic Mental Edge (AME). As a well-being expert, my goal is to help people create changes in their life to live life at their fullest potential. My mission has been inspired by both my personal and professional experience.

My life is greatly influenced by two major identities of mine. Growing up, I excelled as an athlete, but my mental health took a turn for the worse and I was not able to play into college. When I was freshman in college I finally gained the courage to surrender to my authentic-self by coming out as a transgender woman. My transition was a complex and a deep undertaking – I identified what I most needed was where I most did not want to look. Through the pain, tribulations, loneliness, and fear, I discovered who I was at my deepest being.

As I continued on through years of personal development and painstakingly growing beyond my comfort zone, I began to branch out and create connections with the community. Whether that receiving support and/or giving support. I found a deep attachment to connecting with people. In my early years, I helped others grow into themselves through mentoring trans individuals, or through coaching hockey. And yes, I was able to reconnect with the sport I love so dearly but in a little different way as a coach. I found it to be extremely rewarding to support others through their own personal growth and development I wanted to do this for a living.

Setting aside a full time career in coaching college hockey. In 2017, I enrolled in the University of Minnesota Integrative Health and Wellbeing Coaching program where I earned my Master’s Degree. Shortly after, I became a Nationally Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach. Today, I manage my private practice Whole You Health where I support people from many walks of life to navigate through life challenges and help them create changes that enhance their health, well-being, and happiness. I also continue to coach for an NCAA D-1 hockey program.

As a coach, you will find my coaching style is infused with compassion, inclusiveness, presence, creativity, playfulness, curiosity, self-awareness, and whole-person centered. My style is backed by evidence-based coaching techniques and theories: Motivational Interviewing, Whole Person Approach, Positive Psychology, Cognitive Behavioral Coaching, Appreciative Inquiry, Self-determination Theory, Social Cognitive Theory, Neural Linguistic Programming, Emotional Intelligence, & Communication Strategies. All give me the proper toolset to help you make your most desired life changes.

As a coach, I always work to better myself and walk the talk. I do this by focusing on creating balance. Outside of coaching, I love spending time with my partner Bekah and my dog Riggins, exploring the outdoors, fishing, paddleboarding, hiking, coaching hockey, and connecting with friends and community.

Jamie has helped me separate my work life and home life.  I feel I now have the tools to leave work at work and have purpose at home.

Coaching has allowed me to overcome the hurdles and has given me the opportunity to live again.

It is cool to see behavior change come in a natural way to break bad habits… and discovering the importance of my purpose, which is a huge thing!..  Health coaching is not what I expected, but it was a wonderful experience.
